Jan, 04 2019Andrew Pomfret5A very enjoyable foot (only) ferry over to Bear Island, which takes around 20 to 25 minutes and then you can walk over to the Atlantic side of that Island and enjoy a pristine white beach . It was named Bear Island not because there are bears on the island but because there were no large trees and it was considered to be bare. Well worth a visit
